Description

Chamath is the founder and CEO of Social Capital. Founded in 2011, Social Capital makes investments in disruptive ideas, technologies and companies at all stages including early stage venture, late stage growth and public markets. As an investor, Chamath has built a diverse multi-billion dollar portfolio in assets that have included early bets in crypto (Bitcoin), professional sports teams (The Golden State Warriors), technology companies (Slack, Groq) and next gen businesses (MrBeast) among many others. Chamath is also the co-founder and co-host of the All-In Podcast, consistently ranked as one of the top technology podcasts globally. Prior to founding Social Capital, Chamath was an operating executive and an early member of Meta's senior executive team from 2007 to 2011. Before Meta, Chamath held leading roles at The Mayfield Fund, AOL and Winamp. Born in Sri Lanka, Chamath immigrated to Canada at a young age where his family was granted refugee status. He graduated with a B.A.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 1999.
